About
Corrections
If something here is wrong, out of date or unclear, we want to know — and corrections take priority over new content.
How to report one
Email hello@onlinewise.org.uk with the page you are looking at and what is wrong with it. A link to the page and a sentence describing the problem is enough — you do not need to research the fix for us.
If you are reporting a factual error, telling us where the correct information comes from helps a great deal. We may ask for a source before changing a factual claim.
What happens next
- Corrections are triaged ahead of new content, not batched for later.
- A factual correction changes the article and updates its “last reviewed” date.
- If a correction changes the substance of an article, we say so on the page rather than quietly editing it.
- If we think you are mistaken, we will tell you why rather than ignore the message.
What we cannot act on
We cannot act on a report about a specific child, a specific account or an ongoing incident, because we are not a service that can intervene. Please do not send us details of that kind. The Get help page lists the organisations that can act, and they should be your first contact.
Disagreements
If you work for a service we have written about and you think our description is inaccurate or unfair, tell us and we will look at it properly. We will correct anything we have got wrong. We will not remove accurate guidance because an organisation would prefer it were not published.
